My Student's Progress (MSP)

Your child’s education is important. Stay aware and informed.
Studies have shown that children perform better in school when their parents are more involved in their education. MSP provides a platform that keeps you engaged, informed and aware of your child’s progress, conduct, attendance and grades – no matter where you are – 24 hours a day.

LOGGING IN
Parents have been assigned a Username and Password that can be changed in the settings upon logging in. For login assistance, contact Mr. Biro at mbiro@defianceholycross.org. If you have more than one child, all information can be obtained with one log-in.

GRADE BOOK
Your child’s grades for each assignment post in the grade book module, making it easy to stay on top of their performance. Additionally, custom alerts can be setup if you child receives a grade below a threshold you set.

CONDUCT
The Conduct module provides you with several conduct categories:praise, warnings, and concerns.

CALENDAR
The calendar allows the parents to view school and parish events and class assignments. When a teacher records an assignment in MSP it appears on the calendar along with any attachments. This can be helpful if your child is home sick, by allowing you to view assignments that are due in advance and download available worksheets.

TEXT & VOICE ALERTS & EMAIL MESSAGES
Holy Cross uses MSP to issue text and voice mail messages regarding school delays, closures and other important information as well as the Weekly Email Newsletter and periodic email messages. Parents and guardians must have a mobile number and email address recorded in their profile to receive these important messages.

PROFILE INFORMATION
Parents can update their record with contact information in MSP.

Accelerated Reader (AR)

Students at HCCS participate in the Accelerated Reader (AR™) program.  AR is a computer program that helps teachers manage and monitor children’s independent reading practice. Your child picks a book at his own level and reads it at his own pace. When finished, your child takes a short quiz (STAR Assessment) on the computer. Passing the quiz is an indication that your child understood what was read. AR gives both children and teachers feedback based on the quiz results, which the teacher then uses to help your child set goals and direct ongoing reading practice. Parents can view their child’s progress by logging in to Renaissance Connect.
