NO SCHOOL THIS FRIDAY

Important Reminder: there is no school this Friday, February 26th due to the scheduled COVID immunizations for HCCS teachers. Thank you for your ongoing understanding and support as we work together to keep all students and staff safe.

The EPIC YMCA Party is this Sunday!

We cannot wait to see your family at the YMCA this Sunday, February 28th from 5pm-7pm!
If you didn’t RSVP,  you can still attend!

The following activities will be available for parents/guardians and children:

  • Swimming
  • Dodge Ball
  • Among Us Craft and Game
  • YMCA Facility Tours.

To ensure the safety/social distancing while participating in each activity, participation will be limited to one hour per activity. Masks are required for entry to the YMCA.

EVENT DETAILS:

  • HCCS has reserved the YMCA from 5pm-7pm for our Private Event. During this time, the YMCA will not be open to the public.
  • If the parking lot appears full when you arrive, do not be alarmed. There will be a basketball tournament taking place in the opposite end of the building during our party. Tournament participants will be using a separate entrance/exit.
  • Please do not drop off your child. All students must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.
  • There will not be food available at this event – feel free to pack your own snacks.
  • Please bring a bottle of water. The drinking fountains are not available due to COVID.
  • There are men’s, women’s and family locker rooms for your use. You must enter the pool through a locker room. There will be a viewing area for parents who do not wish to swim. There will be two lifeguards on duty during our party with both the large pool and small pool open. Children who wish to swim in the large pool will be required to demonstrate their swimming skills by passing a short swim test. The diving boards will be available.
  • This is a family event and parents/guardians are encouraged to participate in activities with their children!
  • Those interested in upgrading their membership may do by speaking with a YMCA associate at the front desk.

Do you or someone you know have a child ready for PreK or Kindergarten in the next school year? Excellent academics, character development and a family atmosphere make HCCS a top choice in Defiance. With small class sizes, students receive one-on-one instruction while being empowered to lead their learning. New this year, all students receive a free YMCA membership. Call 419-784-2021 to reserve a spot at our Open House on Sunday March 7th or to schedule a private tour.

Registration for 21-22 Opens March 1st.

NEW – Registration will now be done online. We are excited to enable parents/guardians to register students online. Our new online registration process will save parents and guardians time (especially for families enrolling multiple students), reduce the amount of paper forms required and make the registration process more efficient. Information on this new process will be in the M&M on Monday.

Almsgiving During Lent with the United Way Fundraiser

The Student Lighthouse Team has organized a “Money War” to benefit the United Way of Defiance. Beginning Monday and through the entire week, students are encouraged to bring in a donation for the Money War. Students will have the option to place donations in The Lorax’s or The Cat in the Hat’s piggy bank. The piggy bank with the most donations at the end of the week will determine the movie all students will get to watch on a special reward day (day to be determined).

The Next PMO Meeting is March 14th at 1:00 at HCCS.

All are welcome!
