First Day of School & Orientation Information

PreK 3, PreK 4 and Young 5’s Individual Orientation

Students in PreK and Young 5’s will meet with their teacher at a scheduled time for a personalized orientation meeting prior to their first day of school. If your child is in PreK or Young 5’s, you will be contacted about your orientation date/time soon.

Kindergarten Meet the Teacher & Readiness Assessment

Parents with children in Kindergarten will receive a date and time for their child to meet their teacher prior to their first day of school. They will get to explore their classroom and their teacher will briefly evaluate their skills sets so that they can hit the ground running at just their right pace.

Kindergarten – Fifth Grade Orientation is Online this Year!

Kindergarten – Fifth Grade students and their families will be able to view a welcome video and class orientation information by going to HCCS’ website. All Orientation information will be available for viewing by August 17th. The link to this information will be emailed and texted soon!

First Day of School

August 18 – First Day of School for 1st-5th Grade

August 23 – First Day of School for Young 5’s & Kindergarten

August 25 – First Day of School for PreK 4

August 26 – First Day of School for PreK 3

Extraordinary School Retreat
Wednesday September 1, 9am-11am.

Speaker and author John Wood will be visiting HCCS to host a special school-wide retreat speak with students and their families on September 1 from 9-11. Following his presentation will be mass in the Chapel then lunch. This is a FREE event for and all parents, caregivers and grandparents of HCCS students are invited to attend. More details will be mailed home, but we wanted to get the word out so that you can save this date and attend with your child. Dr. John R. Wood is the author of three books, “The Light Entrusted to You“, “Where There is a Will There is a Way” and the bestselling, “Ordinary Lives, Extraordinary Mission: 5 Steps to Winning the War Within”. John and his wife Kristin are very active in their local Catholic parish.  Together, their dedication earned them the 2011 Centurion Award from the Diocese of Toledo, given for “Outstanding service to their parish.”  A passionate speaker, John teaches and speaks on a variety of topics including the Theology of the Body, the Saints, the Church, Faith and Sports, The New Evangelization, The Great Adventure Bible Study, and his new education program for children and adults, Saints in the Making University (SIMU).  John is a mobile eye doctor, and travels to over 40 nursing homes and developmental disability facilities to provide eye care through his business, Mobile Eyes.  He and his wife currently reside in northwest Ohio with their five children.
