We had a great first week!

The smiles, giggles, learning and love that are filling our school is amazing! We hope your child(ren) had a great first week! It’s wonderful to have everyone back in school. We want to extend an especially warm welcome to all first year families. If you have any questions at all, please do not hesitate to call the school office!  419-784-2021

New Finance Office Hours, New Finance Manager

In an effort to provide greater customer service to parents/guardians and employees, HCCS Administration has established new in-person business hours for the Finance Office. Parents will be able to reach the Finance Manager Monday – Friday, 8AM – 4PM with tuition, scholarship and other financial-related questions.

Kathy Shrader, who has served the school as the Finance Director in a part time capacity for over 5 years is unable to accommodate the newly established business hours as it conflicts with her full time employment outside of HCCS. Kathy has always exhibited flexibility, a commitment to her responsibilities and generosity to the school. She has loved being a part of the HCCS family and regretfully submits her resignation effective at the end of August. She will be missed.

Mrs. Renee Sampson, School Secretary, has accepted the appointment as incoming Finance Manager. Renee and Kathy are working together to ensure a seamless transition. Mrs. Sampson has a background in business and experience managing financial programs for other organizations. Mrs. Sampson will serve HCCS full time Monday – Friday in her combined role as Secretary and Finance Manager.

Please feel free to call the school office Monday – Friday 8am – 4pm with your financial questions and needs. We look forward to being able to serve you better with these changes.

Thank you Mrs. Theresa – New PT Secretary

Mrs. Alvarado is unable to return to HCCS this year. Mrs. Theresa has agreed to fill her role two days a week as School Secretary. Mrs. Theresa and Mrs. Sampson will job-share. You can expect to see/hear from Mrs. Theresa on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Mrs. Sampson will be on the “front lines” Monday/Wednesday/Friday.

Early Dismissal September 1st

We will allow parents to take their child home directly after the SEPTEMBER 1 RETREAT. A letter went home with your child this week asking you to RSVP for the awesome retreat. Please see attached if you didn’t receive this letter. We need your reservation for planning purposes. We hope every student is able to have at least one adult (grandparent, parent, caregiver) attend this memorable retreat. Please note that masks for students and adults is required for this event.

Guidelines for Quarantine After Exposure in K-12 Classroom Settings

This chart can help guide quarantine decisions after a student or adult contact is exposed to someone with COVID-19 in the classroom setting.

To maintain academic excellence, stay committed to best practices in education and provide the best services available to students, HCCS undergoes a review process (accreditation) every five years. The accreditation process is a comprehensive and extensive review process involving many stakeholders including parents/caregivers.

Sometime in the near future, we will be required to issue a survey to parents/caregivers. When you see this survey, please take the time to participate. Our ability to improve and earn an accreditation relies in part on parent satisfaction and feedback.

We are excited to have the book fair return in person to HCCS this year! Our fair will be the week of December 6th – just in time for holiday shopping! We will be recruiting parent volunteers to run the fair. Volunteers receive “book fair bucks” and priority shopping benefits! Consider becoming a volunteer and watch for the volunteer sign-up coming soon!
