Last Day of School
The Last Day of official school instruction is today, Friday May 15th. This is the last day teachers will assign work. May 18-20 teachers will host the last class zoom meeting and students may submit all work that needs to be turned in. May 21-28 we will have opportunities to take virtual field trips. We know your children are disappointed to miss their annual spring field trips and our big field day. Our teachers really look forward to those events too! We hope you and your child will find some of the virtual trips fun and interesting.
Student Lighthouse 2020-21 Applications Now Accepted – Due May 19
Our Student Lighthouse team this year was a hard working group and we want to thank them for their commitment to helping model The 7 Habits and lead our school in many events and activities that developed the leadership skills of all. This was the first year the SLH Team was composed of 3,4 & 5 grade students and it worked very well.
Students in 3-5th grade this coming fall who would like to be considered for the SLH Team can apply now. Applications are due May 19th by emailing them to Mrs. Reinhart. All applications are blindly scored by the HCCS Staff and the students with the highest scores will become members of the 2020-21 SLH Team. The application was posted under ‘Stream’ in Google Classroom (3rd & 4th grade will find theirs in Mrs. DeCola’s Google Classroom), It is also attached to this email.
Pick Up/Drop Off Day May 21 & May 22
May 21 8:30 – 3:00 pm and May 22 8:30 – 12:00 we will be collecting your child’s school books, library books, loaned technology and anything else that you need to return to the school. Your child’s teacher has packed up each student’s personal belongings from their desk for pick up. There will be a table of lost-and-found items set outside. A letter from Mrs. Reinhart was mailed this past Tuesday with more information. Please remember to bring a self addressed stamped envelope if you’d prefer to have your child’s grade card mailed home. Grades can be viewed in MSP after May 28th.
5th Grade & Fr. Eric Send-Off Parade
We will be holding a send off parade for the 5th grade students and Fr. Eric on Friday, May 22, 2020 from 1pm to 2pm rain or shine. Please stop by one last time and thank the 5th grade for their leadership to our school and wish Father Eric well on his new assignment. The parade will take place in the school parking lot.
First Communion Set for June 14th
Our Second Grade students will receive the Sacrament of Holy Eucharist on June 14th at either St. John’s or St. Mary’s Church. We pray for our students and their families. Remember that God’s love will always be there to comfort you, guide you, and bless you!
